The Medicare for All bill in our state legislature (S304) would guarantee healthcare for all NJ residents - saving lives and businesses money. Yet neither party will touch it. Why? Because insurance and pharma lobbyists bankroll both sides. By electing a Green Party candidate, we can rally residents and Assembly members around this bill by showing NJ another, better way forward is possible.
My opponents, the incumbents William Spearman and William Moen, are co-sponsors of the IHRA bill in the state legislature which seeks to criminalize speech against Israel by equating this with anti-semitism. The activists who have stood up to oppose genocide are not criminals. By electing me to the state legislature, we can challenge this dangerous bill and take away a seat from an Assembly member who supports it.
From EMR’s toxic emissions in Camden to AI data centers draining the Pinelands, corporate polluters buy protection while our air, water, and people suffer. I will fight to regulate those polluters, not take their political donations. Working class families, especially people of color, are left footing the bill for rising utility bills while being exposed to toxic and hazardous waste over and over again in their communities. We should center those affected by decades of corruption and racism when crafting legislation, to build healthier communities in the 5th district, and ensure working families - not billionaires - decide how our energy is produced and priced.
Let’s end the two-party chokehold. Ranked Choice Voting gives voters the power to choose candidates they actually believe in - and stops fear-based voting for “the lesser evil.” The current Legislature ignores it. I won’t let that continue.
I will always support affordable housing and rent control legislation to ensure the state and municipalities in the 5th district make good on promises. Also, lower taxes for working families, not for corporate donors. Reinvest in schools, social services, and mental health. Build community wealth - not Wall Street wealth.
