Local Solutions, Not Party Politics

My Bio

I am proud to serve as a member of the Tiffin City Council and seek re-election because I believe in the promise of our community: growth, opportunity, and strong local values.

Background & Professional Experience

  1. I have over two decades of experience working in IT at the University of Iowa. This work has taught me the importance of systems, infrastructure, reliable service, and transparency in real-world organizations.
  2. My experience has given me a deep respect for connectivity, behind-the-scenes systems, and operational efficiency — all of which translate to how our city services, utilities, and public works must function.
  3. A resident of Tiffin since 2014, my family and I call this community home. Originally from Muscatine, I moved to Johnson County in 2004 and have raised our three children here with my wife, Katie.

Civic Involvement & Council Work

  1. I currently serve as a member of the Tiffin City Council, bringing my operational experience to bear on the key issues facing our growing city.
  2. I believe strongly in partnership: working with fellow council members, city staff, local businesses, and residents to ensure that our infrastructure, zoning, growth, and community services align with both our near-term needs and long-term vision.

Vision & Priorities

As our city grows, I am committed to:

  1. Encouraging smart “opportunity growth” — supporting local business development, creating jobs, and expanding services in ways that enhance our city rather than stretch it.
  2. Maintaining our small-town character — as new homes, roads, and businesses come in, ensuring Tiffin remains a place where neighbors know each other, community matters, and growth doesn’t mean losing our identity.
  3. Strengthening infrastructure and services — reliable roads, utilities, broadband, parks, and public spaces matter. My professional background equips me to understand how to build and maintain them responsibly.
  4. Fostering transparency and communication — residents should not feel left behind. I will continue to listen, engage, and make sure the voices of long-time residents and new arrivals alike are heard.

On Running for Re-Election

I’m running for re-election because I believe the foundation we’ve built is strong — but I’m not finished. With your support, I will continue to work every day to ensure Tiffin is a place where business opportunities grow, families thrive, and our sense of community remains at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you for your support and for the honor of serving you.
