I’m Edward Wilson — a longtime El Dorado resident, public servant, and community volunteer running for City Commission to bring transparency, ethics, and real accountability to local government. I currently work for Butler County Public Works, helping maintain the infrastructure that keeps our community running. I’ve also worked in the cutting-edge blockchain sector as a developer with the XRPL Foundation, contributing to decentralized technologies that prioritize transparency, security, and public access. My broader career has included roles as a cloud architect, cybersecurity director, and nonprofit advisor — all grounded in responsible systems management and public service. Locally, I’ve served El Dorado as a two-time member of the One Cent Sales Tax Committee, a current Parks & Recreation Board member, and an active volunteer with Paws in Oz, the Kansas Guardianship Program, and community efforts like Bushels of Hope and The Ark. I’m running because I believe city government should work for the people — not just the insiders. Too often, citizens’ voices are ignored, records are hidden, and decisions are made behind closed doors. I want to change that. El Dorado deserves leadership that’s ethical, transparent, and truly accountable. Let’s protect taxpayer dollars, restore public trust, and make sure everyone in our city has a voice that counts.
City government should serve the public — not hide from it. I’ll fight for open access to records, honest communication, and real citizen input at every stage of decision-making.
Our elected officials must lead by example. That means no favoritism, no backroom deals, and no tolerance for personal or political gain at the public’s expense.
Taxpayer dollars should be treated with respect. I’ll work to rein in wasteful projects, demand full financial transparency, and ensure that public funds go to real community needs — not vanity upgrades or special favors.
I’m not here to play games. I’m here to make sure everyday residents are heard, not silenced. That includes elevating voices that have been ignored and standing up when process is replaced by politics.
